It's been a little weird to be home for Christmas break. I'm still not used to having this much time off this time of year. For the previous ten years of my ordained life it was the very engaging and --ask my wife -- consuming rituals of Advent and Christmas. There was always some extra liturgical/spiritual schedule that owned at least one week night in the walk-up from Thanksgiving. There were always the meetings to tweek this year's Christmas eve mass-production. Until my arrival at the Episcopal Center I was always at a parish that held no less than three Christmas eve services. in one case, FOUR held at 4pm, 7pm, 9pm, and 11pm, with a choir party thrown in there somewhere.
